Renaissance Homes has opened a $2
million 4,000-square-foot clubhouse at its $100 million
Peterkort Woods townhome neighborhood, located just
of NW Barnes Rd at Valeria View Rd., and has moved its
sales operation there.
Opening of the facility, which includes
an outdoor swimming pool, party area, outdoor fireplace,
outdoor barbecue, television room, two kitchens (once
catering with outside entrance) and meeting rooms, coincided
with the announcement that nearly half the 222 townhomes
have been sold.
“Our efforts to produce a luxury
town home neighborhood unlike anything else outside
of the Pearl District have paid off in that we’re
selling these as fast as they’re released,”
said Renaissance President Randy Sebastian.
By mid-May, there were around 114 of
the 1,370 square foot to 2,905-square foot homes yet
to sell, but only about 20 more of the smaller Village
homes. The Village homes run from 1,370-square feet
with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths to 2214 square feet
with two master bedroom, den and media room and three
baths.
The remainder will be the larger 2,121-square-foot
to 2,905-square-foot Forest homes. They range from two
master bedrooms with den and media room, 2.5 baths to
three bedrooms, den and media room with three baths.
Base prices on the four Village and
three Forest floor plans currently run from $330,900
to $701,900.
To date, about 80 percent of buyers
have been from the Portland area, said Michelle Gregg,
community manager at Peterkort Woods.
“We’ve had a number of
people from the Peal District who want to be close to
downtown, but want the peace and quiet that we have
here. They also like the two car garages, storage, outdoor
patios and that they’re getting more interior
space in many cases with the luxury touches they were
used to in the Pearl,” Gregg said.
Peterkort also is attracting people
from larger homes in such established Portland neighborhoods
as Eastmoreland and Alameda and “we’ve had
a lot of interest by people from Forest Heights and
the West Hills who like the tax advantages of Washington
County,” she said.
Besides the tax advantages, Gregg said
Peterkort’s location near St Vincent hospital,
across from a park-and-ride light rail station and at
the confluence of highway’s 26 and 217 “which
provide easy access to downtown, Nike, Oregon Health
Sciences University and Intel. We also have a fair number
of people who are working out of their home offices.”
“People seem to like the low
maintenance and life style provided here. They want
a little garden and the luxury which is built into a
Renaissance home,” Gregg said.
