Pacific Crossing Clubhouse Opens; August Sees 1st Families

FOREST GROVE--Renaissance Homes has opened a 2,000 square foot clubhouse with swimming pool at its $132 million, 294-home Pacific Crossing here on Goff Road just off Highway 8. At the same time, it has put the finishing touches on the community’s Rolf Selberg Park, an acre of trees, playground equipment and picnic area for use by Pacific Crossing residents, which includes the clubhouse.

Already one of the firm’s best selling neighborhoods, Renaissance Realtor Lee Wells said he expects the finished amenity to be popular with people interested in what the Forest Grove planning department describes as the area’s largest residential development in at least 20 years.

Since opening in February, there have been 28 sales and Wells said he expects the first six homes to be occupied in August. Homes at Pacific Crossing, which is Renaissance’ largest metropolitan area neighborhood to date, range from 1,786 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths to 4,331 square feet with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Base prices range from $379,900 to $549,900 and there is a mix of two and three car garages. One plan is available with an optional five-car tandem garage.

Relatively large lots ranging from 5,000 to 8,000 square feet have allowed Renaissance to offer an unusually wide range of housing, including single floor, master bedroom on main floor and daylight basement models.

There has been substantial interest in single floor and daylight basement homes. The larger lots have allowed Renaissance to include three single level plans of 1,786 square feet, 1,811 square feet and 2,124 square feet, including two relatively new designs.

Pacific Crossing’s gently rolling topography provides “great views of the nearby coast mountains. Our buyers really like the views and our design center, where they can choose interior and exterior colors, materials and features also seems to be a big hit,” said Wells. The Renaissance Design Center won the national gold award from the National Association of Home Builders as best design center in the country.

Although there has been some interest from people new to the area, Wells said most buyers so far have come from other west side communities, where they also work. Some people, he said, are even commuting to downtown Portland.
All homes are being built to Renaissance’ “Living Green” standards under partnerships with the Earth Advantage and Energy Star programs.

Renaissance Homes is one of the metropolitan area’s largest residential builders. Besides Forest Grove, it currently has neighborhoods underway in Beaverton, Sherwood, Wilsonville, southwest Portland, West Linn, on the OGA golf course at Tukwila, Vancouver, Camas and in Bend.
